Over the years, the Gogebic County Fair has grown and become a premier place for businesses and organizations to showcase their products or promote their efforts. It's a fantastic venue to get your products or group in front of over 10,000 people in the four days of the fair.
The 2009 Gogebic County Fair will see some changes and new policies in our vendor space rental contract. If you are a potential new vendor or have been a vendor in the past with us, please check out the information below. Changes have been made to make it easier and fair for everyone and we hope to see you at the 2009 Gogebic County Fair.
EXPOSITION BUILDING BOOTHS
FREE NON-PROFIT
BOOTH PROGRAM
intention of the group or organization, (re: fundraising, public awareness, etc) Items you are planning to sell in your booth, and how receiving a booth for the fair can benefit your group or organization.
Groups that have received a free booth in one calendar year are not eligible for a free booth in the following year, unless the non profit group/organization is the only one who applies for the booth in the next year.
The Gogebic County Fair Board will be deciding which non profit will receive the booth at their July meeting and the group will be contacted after the meeting.
Outdoor vendor spots are available with 110 and 220 power pedestals.
Water is available for food trailers from various locations around the grounds.
Outdoor booths costs for the four day of the fair are as follows:
~ Non-profit organization: $150.00
~ Gogebic County businesses: $230.00
~ Out of County business: $320.00
~ Beer booths: $700.00
Outdoor spots have 25' of frontage, and are generally
25' or more deep (depending on location)
All booths selling food or beverages are responsible
for contacting the Dept. of Agriculture for the proper
food licensing and passing inspection.
The Gogebic County Fair Board has decided that one booth in the Expo building will be given away each year to a deserving non-profit organization or group.
Any group or organization interested in the Free booth program must submit a letter to the fair board by July 1st of the current fair year. This letter must state the in
These rules and policies have been set up to make it fair for all vendors at the Gogebic County Fair. ALL vendors must abide by said rules. Anyone breaking the policies of the fair will be asked to leave and will not be allowed back in the future. If we all work together, we can all succeed.
If you have any questions or concerns about any of the polices, feel free to contact us and we would be happy to awnser any questions you may have. Thank you all in advance for your cooperation.
SET UP: Booth set up is on Wednesday, prior to opening day (Thursday) All booths should be ready to open by 12:00 noon on Thursday.
BOOTH PAYMENTS: Half down is required with the return of your contract. The final payment for your booth is due no later than Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m If you have not paid your rental fee, you will not be allowed to open your booth.
VENDOR BOOTHS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE. If you have rented a booth at the fair, and decide you cannot return the following year, you cannot give your booth space to another vendor. The booth space is the property of the fair and the board will assign the booth space to the next person in-line. The board does have a waiting list for certain booth spaces, therefore we will assign the space. Vendor booths are available on a first come / first serve basis, with location preference given to a vendor that has rented in the previous year. For instance, if a vendor has rented in the previous year, and returns...that vendor would have first choice to take the same spot they had in the previous year. If you decide not to rent a vendor space for one year, you will forfeit your spot and if you chose to rent a space another year you will then be assigned a new spot if your old spot is not available.
SHARING A BOOTH IS PROHIBITED. Any vendor renting a booth, must be the only vendor in said booth space, unless there has been prior fairboard approval. Do not assume that you can share you booth with another business, person, organization, etc. Placing or handing out business cards, brochures, etc for other businesses is considered splitting a booth, and must meet prior approval. If there are any questions, please call Jim Saari at (906) 364-2750. The Gogebic County Fairboard needs to be aware of who is vending at the fair and the type of things that are distributed, displayed and sold at the vendor booths.
Vendors are to distribute/sell items only in their booth space. Selling in other areas of the grounds/ or in grandstand, handing out brochures, etc is prohibited. Placing or handing out business cards, brochures, etc for other businesses is considered splitting a booth and must meet prior approval. Vendors will only be able to offer their items in the space that they have rented during the fair. The Grandstand area is considered a vendor spot, and it has been rented as such. The renter of the grandstand area is the only one allowed to sell in the stands. We thank you for your cooperation in this matter in advance. Please remember, treat other vendors as you would like to be treated. We would like for everyone to work together in a fair and honest matter.
The Gogebic County Fair does NOT have "Exclusives" on items sold at the fair. If there is a booth selling "Funnel Cakes" and you want to sell "Funnel Cakes", you can! We can advise you on what vendors are at the fair, or scheduled to show and what items they will sell if you are interested in not duplicating products. We also do not try to place booths with like items together. This is why we assign booth spaces.
The fair has no control over what vendor booths are in the Midway area. The booths generally travel with the Carnival throughout the year. We generally do not know what types of vendor booths travel with them, nor do we have any control over their booths and pricing.
Dogs are not allowed on the fairgrounds during the fair, if you travel with a dog, please contact the Fair board member Jim Saari at 906-364-2750 so arrangements can be made.
Insurance: You are responsible for having insurance for your booth, proof of insurance must be filed with the fair office previous to opening your booth at the fair. If you do not have proof of insurance...the fair board reserves the right to close your booth.
If you are interested in renting a vendor spot at the 2009 Gogebic County Fair, feel free to contact Fair Board Member Jim Saari at 906-364-2750. Spaces are going fast, so if you intend to get a booth, Call Today!
